Instant Wallet Refunds
Wallet-paid bookings refunded instantly to your FareEagle Wallet
When you cancel a booking, the refund amount is calculated by deducting the following charges from the amount you paid:
| Charge |
Description |
| Service Provider Cancellation Fee |
The penalty charged by the airline, hotel, or bus operator. This varies by provider, fare type, and how close to departure or check-in you cancel. FareEagle has no control over this amount. |
| FareEagle Processing Charges |
A charge applied by FareEagle for processing your cancellation and coordinating the refund with the Service Provider. This amount is included in the cancellation fee shown to you before you confirm. |
| Payment Processing Fee |
A non-refundable fee charged by the payment gateway at the time of your original transaction. This charge is incurred immediately upon payment and cannot be reversed. |
| Add-on Services (SSR) |
Fully non-refundable. Pre-booked meals, seat selections, extra baggage, and other add-ons are deducted in full from your refund. |
Refund formula: Refund = Amount Paid − Service Provider Fee − FareEagle Processing Charges − Payment Processing Fee − Add-ons (SSR)
✅ No hidden charges
The exact breakdown of every charge — including the Service Provider's fee, FareEagle processing charges, payment processing fee, and any add-on deductions — is displayed on the cancellation screen before you confirm. You always see the full picture before committing.
Flight cancellation charges consist of the airline's cancellation fee, FareEagle processing charges, and a non-refundable payment processing fee. You can cancel directly from your dashboard under My Bookings → View Details → Cancel Booking.
| Fee Component |

| Airline Cancellation Fee |

Set by the airline based on fare rules, route, and timing. The exact amount is displayed before you confirm the cancellation. |
| FareEagle Processing Charges |
Applicable |
Processing charge for coordinating your cancellation and refund with the airline. |
| Payment Processing Fee |
Applicable |
Non-refundable processing charge by the payment provider, incurred at the time of original payment. |
⚠️ Airline-Specific Rules
Some promotional, sale, or special fares are completely non-refundable regardless of when you cancel. This is clearly marked during booking as "Non-Refundable Fare". Cancellation of such tickets will only refund applicable taxes (if any), minus the charges above.
🎫 Add-ons are non-refundable
Pre-booked add-ons including meals, extra baggage, and seat selections are non-refundable upon cancellation. The full SSR/add-on amount is deducted from the refund.
📌 Airline-initiated cancellations
If the airline cancels your flight, you are entitled to a full refund. We will initiate the refund automatically with no additional charges from FareEagle. You may also be entitled to compensation from the airline as per DGCA regulations.
✈️ Round-trip flights
Domestic round-trip bookings may be issued as two separate PNRs (one for each leg). Each leg can be cancelled independently. Cancelling one leg does not automatically cancel the other — you must cancel each separately from your dashboard.
Hotel cancellation charges consist of the hotel's own cancellation penalty, FareEagle processing charges, and a non-refundable payment processing fee. Within 48 hours of booking, FareEagle processing charges are reduced — see details below.

✅ 48-Hour Reduced Cancellation
Cancel any hotel booking within 48 hours of the time you booked and FareEagle processing charges are reduced. You'll pay the payment processing fee and any penalty the hotel itself charges. The 48-hour countdown starts from the moment your booking is confirmed, not the check-in date. This benefit does not apply to last-minute bookings where check-in falls within 48 hours of the booking time.
📌 Non-refundable rooms
Some hotels offer discounted "Non-Refundable" rates. These are clearly labelled during booking. Cancellation of non-refundable rooms typically results in the hotel retaining the full room charge.
🛏️ Multi-room bookings
For bookings with multiple rooms, cancellation applies to all rooms in the reservation. Partial cancellation (cancelling some rooms but keeping others) may not be supported depending on the hotel's policy. Contact support for assistance with multi-room cancellations.
Bus cancellation charges consist of the operator's cancellation penalty, FareEagle processing charges, and a non-refundable payment processing fee. The operator's penalty is based on a tiered system — the closer you cancel to departure, the higher the charge. You can cancel directly from your dashboard under My Bookings → View Details → Cancel Booking.
| Fee Component |
Amount |
Details |
| Bus Operator Cancellation Fee |
10%–100% of ticket |
Set by the bus operator as a percentage of the ticket price. The penalty increases as departure time approaches (e.g., 10% if cancelled early, 50% within 12–24 hours, 100% close to departure). Each operator sets their own tiers. |
| FareEagle Processing Charges |
Applicable |
Processing charge for coordinating your cancellation and refund with the bus operator. |
| Payment Processing Fee |
Applicable |
Non-refundable processing charge by the payment provider. |
⚠️ Operator Penalties Are Time-Based
Bus operators use tiered cancellation policies — the closer you cancel to departure, the higher the penalty. A typical structure might be: 10% if cancelled 24+ hours before departure, 50% if cancelled 12–24 hours before, and 100% (no refund on the operator portion) within the final hours. The exact charges for your booking are calculated and displayed on the cancellation screen before you confirm — you will always see the full breakdown before committing.
📌 100% operator penalty
If the bus operator's cancellation policy charges 100% of the ticket price at the time of your cancellation, the cancel button will be disabled on your dashboard. In such cases, the booking is non-cancellable and no refund is available.
Trip Bundles combine a flight booking and a hotel booking into a single checkout. However, each component is booked independently with the respective Service Provider and must be cancelled separately.
| Scenario |
What Happens |
| Cancel entire trip |
Each component (flight and hotel) is cancelled separately. Standard cancellation charges apply to each component independently. You will see separate fee breakdowns for the flight and hotel portions. |
| Cancel flight only |
Only the flight booking is cancelled. The hotel booking remains active and is not affected. Standard flight cancellation charges apply. |
| Cancel hotel only |
Only the hotel booking is cancelled. The flight booking remains active and is not affected. Standard hotel cancellation charges apply (including the 48-hour reduced charges if applicable). |
| Partial booking failure |
If one component fails during booking (e.g., hotel booking fails after flight is confirmed), you will be notified immediately. You may keep the confirmed component or cancel it with standard charges. |
ℹ️ Trip Bundles are not packages
Each component of a Trip Bundle is an independent booking. There is no special bundle discount on cancellation — each component follows its own cancellation policy. Cancelling one component does not trigger automatic cancellation of the other.
🔄 Round-trip flight in a trip bundle
If your trip bundle includes a domestic round-trip flight, the outbound and return legs may have separate PNRs. Each leg can be cancelled independently. Cancelling the outbound does not cancel the return, and vice versa.
Once you confirm the cancellation, the refund is processed automatically. Here's what to expect:

👛 Wallet refunds are instant
If you paid using your FareEagle Wallet, the refundable amount is credited back to your Wallet immediately upon cancellation confirmation. For bookings paid with a combination of Wallet and another method, the Wallet portion is refunded instantly and the remaining portion follows the standard timeline for that payment method.
The following are not eligible for refund under any circumstances:
| Item | Reason |
| Payment processing fee | Charged by the payment processor at the time of transaction and cannot be reversed. |
| Non-refundable fare tickets | Airline/hotel/bus explicitly marks these during booking. Only applicable taxes may be refunded. |
| No-show bookings | If the passenger does not board the flight/bus or does not check in to the hotel. |
| Partially used bookings | E.g., one leg of a round-trip flight used, or partial hotel stay completed. |
| Bookings cancelled after departure | Once the travel date/time has passed, cancellation is not possible. |
| Add-on services (meals, seats, baggage) | Fully non-refundable. Pre-booked meals, seat selections, and extra baggage purchased during booking cannot be refunded upon cancellation, regardless of when you cancel or whether the service was used. |
| Promotional credits/cashback | If you used a promo code or received cashback on a booking that is later cancelled, the promotional benefit is forfeited. |
If you'd prefer to change your booking instead of cancelling, you can submit a modification request from your dashboard. Modifications are subject to availability and provider policies.
| Modification Type | Fee | Notes |
| Date change (flights) | Airline fee + fare difference | Subject to airline policy and seat availability on new date |
| Name correction (minor) | Free within 24h | Minor spelling errors only (e.g., "Rahul" to "Rahool"). Full name changes not permitted. |
| Route change | Treated as cancellation + rebooking | Original cancellation charges apply to the first booking |
| Hotel date change | Hotel policy applies | Subject to room availability at new dates. Rate may differ. |
| Class upgrade (flights) | Airline fee + fare difference | Subject to airline availability. Contact support with booking reference. |
📌 Modifications are not guaranteed
Not all bookings are eligible for modification. Low-fare, promotional, and non-refundable tickets typically do not allow changes. The airline, hotel, or bus operator has final say on whether a modification is permitted.
In rare cases, a payment may be debited from your account but the booking may not be confirmed. This can happen due to network timeouts, payment gateway delays, or technical issues.
| Scenario | What Happens | Timeline |
| Payment debited, booking not confirmed |
The amount is auto-reversed to your original payment method. No action needed from you. |
Within 5 business days (RBI TAT) |
| Double debit |
If you were charged twice for the same booking, the duplicate amount is auto-reversed. Contact support if not reversed within 7 days. |
Within 5–7 business days |
| Booking confirmed but fare unavailable ("phantom fare") |
FareEagle initiates a full refund with no charges. You will be notified by email and SMS. |
Within 5–7 business days |
| Payment pending / processing |
Wait 30 minutes. If the booking doesn't appear in your dashboard, contact support with your transaction reference. |

ℹ️ RBI Guidelines
In compliance with Reserve Bank of India circulars on timelines for reversal of failed transactions, amounts debited for unconfirmed bookings are auto-reversed within 5 business days (Turn Around Time). If the reversal does not happen within this period, contact our support team with your transaction details and we will escalate it with the payment provider.

How do I cancel my booking?
▼
Log in to your FareEagle account, go to My Bookings, select the booking you want to cancel, click View Details, then click Cancel Booking. You'll see a complete breakdown of all fees — including the Service Provider's fee, FareEagle processing charges, payment processing fee, and any add-on deductions — before you confirm.
What are FareEagle Processing Charges?
▼
FareEagle Processing Charges are the fees FareEagle applies for processing your cancellation request, coordinating with the Service Provider (airline, hotel, or bus operator), and facilitating your refund. The exact amount is always displayed on the cancellation screen before you confirm.
What does "reduced charges within 48 hours" mean for hotels?
▼
When you cancel a hotel booking within 48 hours of when it was made, FareEagle processing charges are reduced. You'll still pay the payment processing fee and any penalty the hotel itself charges. The 48-hour countdown starts from the moment your booking is confirmed, not the check-in date. This benefit does not apply to last-minute bookings where check-in is within 48 hours.
Why is the payment processing fee non-refundable?
▼
The payment processing fee is charged by the payment gateway at the time of your original transaction. This charge is incurred immediately and cannot be reversed, regardless of whether the booking is later cancelled. This is an industry-standard practice.
What if the airline/hotel/bus operator cancels my booking?
▼
If the service provider cancels your booking (e.g., flight cancelled by airline), you are entitled to a full refund. We will initiate the refund automatically with no additional charges — no FareEagle processing charges and no payment processing fee deducted.
I haven't received my refund. What should I do?
▼
Refund timelines vary by payment method (see table above). If it's been longer than the stated timeline, please contact us at
support@fareeagle.com with your booking reference and we'll trace the refund for you.
Can I cancel a partially used booking?
▼
Partially used bookings (e.g., one leg of a round trip) are generally non-refundable. Contact our support team for case-by-case assistance.
Why are bus operator cancellation charges so high?
▼
Bus operators independently set their cancellation policies. Some charge up to 50–100% of the fare, particularly for last-minute cancellations. FareEagle has no control over operator penalties — we display the exact charges from the operator before you confirm the cancellation so there are no surprises.
How do I cancel a trip bundle (flight + hotel)?
▼
Each component of a trip bundle must be cancelled separately from your dashboard. Go to My Bookings, select the trip, and cancel the flight and/or hotel independently. Standard cancellation charges apply to each component. Cancelling one does not automatically cancel the other.
My payment was debited but I didn't receive a booking confirmation.
▼
Wait 15–30 minutes and check your dashboard. In most cases, the confirmation will arrive. If not, the amount will be auto-reversed within 5 business days as per RBI guidelines. If it's not reversed within this period, contact our support team with your transaction reference number.
I paid with FareEagle Wallet. How quickly will I get my refund?
▼
Wallet refunds are instant. The refundable amount (after applicable cancellation charges) is credited back to your FareEagle Wallet immediately upon cancellation confirmation. If you paid using both Wallet and another method, the Wallet portion is refunded instantly and the other portion follows the standard timeline.
I used a promo code. What happens to the discount if I cancel?
▼
If you cancel a booking made with a promo code, the refund is calculated on the amount you actually paid (after discount). The promotional discount or cashback is forfeited and will not be re-issued. The promo code cannot be reused.
