Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) opened in 1982. It is operated by Abu Dhabi Airports.
In 2023, the airport handled approximately 15 million passengers. AUH serves as the hub for Etihad Airways and is a major gateway to the UAE.
The new Midfield Terminal Building (Terminal A) significantly expands the airport's capacity and capabilities.
Abu Dhabi International Airport has three operational passenger terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 has 27 gates.
Terminal 3 is the largest, primarily serving Etihad Airways and its partners. There is also a City Terminal in downtown Abu Dhabi that offers check-in facilities.
The Midfield Terminal Building (MTB), also known as Terminal A, opened in November 2023, increasing the airport's capacity to 45 million passengers per year and adding 65 gates. The total area of the airport is 3,400 hectares.
Short-term parking is available at all terminals. Long-term parking is located further away and connected by shuttle buses. Short term parking rates start at AED 20 per hour. Daily rates for short term parking are AED 240. Long term parking is AED 120 per day. Valet parking is available at Terminal 3.
