Abu Simbel Airport (ABS) serves the town of Abu Simbel and the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Abu Simbel temples. The airport facilitates tourism to the temples, which were relocated in the 1960s to avoid flooding caused by the Aswan High Dam.
