Hong Kong International Airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 is used for both departures and arrivals.
Terminal 2, reopened in 2024 after expansion, exclusively handles departures. Terminal 1 has 67 gates.
The airport has two concourses: the North Satellite Concourse and the Midfield Concourse. The Midfield Concourse opened in December 2015 and is connected to Terminal 1 by an automated people mover.
The total terminal area is 710,000 square meters. The airport handled 40.5 million passengers in 2023 and has a design capacity of over 80 million passengers per year.
The Three-Runway System (3RS) project, including a new runway, is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, increasing the airport's capacity to handle 100 million passengers annually.
