Muscat International Airport (MCT) opened in 1973 and is operated by Oman Airports. In 2019, the airport handled over 17 million passengers.
It serves as the hub for Oman Air. The airport has undergone significant expansion in recent years to increase capacity and improve passenger experience.
Muscat International Airport has two main terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 handles the majority of international and domestic flights.
It has 29 gates and a capacity of 20 million passengers per year. Terminal 2 primarily serves low-cost carriers.
In 2018, a new passenger terminal opened, significantly expanding the airport's capacity.
Short-term parking is available near the terminal entrances. Long-term parking is located further away and offers lower rates. Short term parking rates start at 0.5 OMR per hour. Daily rates for long-term parking are approximately 3 OMR. Premium parking options are also available at higher rates.
