Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) opened in 1921 and is operated by Airports of Thailand (AOT). In 2019, it handled over 11 million passengers, making it one of the busiest airports in Thailand.
It serves as a gateway to Northern Thailand and is an important hub for tourism and business travel. Future expansion plans include increasing terminal capacity.
Chiang Mai International Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 handles both domestic and international flights, while Terminal 2 is dedicated to domestic flights only. Terminal 1 has 9 gates.
The airport's capacity is 8 million passengers per year. A recent expansion project completed in 2014 increased the terminal area to 31,000 square meters.
Short-term and long-term parking are available. Rates start at 20 THB per hour for the first 3 hours, increasing to 30 THB per hour. Daily rates are around 250 THB.
