Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) opened in 2010 primarily for cargo operations, with passenger flights commencing in 2013. It is operated by Dubai Airports.

The airport's IATA code is DWC. While initially envisioned as a major passenger hub, its role has evolved, and it currently handles a limited number of passenger flights.

Al Maktoum International Airport currently has one operational passenger terminal. This terminal has a capacity of 26.5 million passengers per year.
