Taichung International Airport (RMQ) opened in 2004. It is operated by the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA).
The airport served approximately 2.8 million passengers in 2019. It plays a crucial role in connecting central Taiwan to both domestic and international destinations.
Future expansion plans include further upgrades to terminal facilities and increased flight routes.
Taichung International Airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 primarily handles international flights, while Terminal 2 is dedicated to domestic flights.
Terminal 1 has 6 gates. The airport has a total capacity of approximately 8 million passengers per year.
In 2018, Terminal 1 underwent renovations to improve passenger flow and enhance the overall airport experience.
Short-term, long-term, and motorcycle parking are available. Car parking rates are NT$30 per hour for the first 3 hours, then NT$20 per hour thereafter, with a daily maximum of NT$240. Motorcycle parking is NT$20 per day. Pre-booking is not available.
