Biju Patnaik International Airport (BBI) was named after the former Chief Minister of Odisha, Biju Patnaik. The airport is operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Expansion plans are underway to accommodate increasing passenger traffic.
Biju Patnaik International Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 handles domestic flights, and Terminal 2 serves international flights. Terminal 1 has 5 boarding gates.
The airport has a total passenger capacity of 4 million passengers per annum. A new domestic terminal is planned to increase capacity.
