Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) opened in 1938. It is operated by Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH.
In 2023, the airport handled approximately 9.8 million passengers. CGN serves as a hub for Eurowings and a base for several low-cost carriers.
The airport has plans for further expansion to increase capacity.
Cologne Bonn Airport has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 is the older terminal and is used by Eurowings and Lufthansa.
Terminal 2 is more modern and handles most other airlines, including Ryanair and Wizz Air. The airport has a total of 37 aircraft stands, some equipped with jet bridges.
The terminals have a combined capacity of approximately 12 million passengers per year.
