Hanover Airport (HAJ) opened in 1952. It is operated by Flughafen Hannover-Langenhagen GmbH.

In 2023, the airport handled approximately 4.4 million passengers. HAJ serves as a gateway to Lower Saxony and is an important business travel hub.
