Hat Yai International Airport (HDY) opened in 1988 and is operated by Airports of Thailand (AOT). In 2019, the airport handled over 4 million passengers, exceeding its designed capacity.

It serves as a gateway to southern Thailand and nearby tourist destinations. There are plans for terminal expansion to increase capacity.

Hat Yai International Airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 handles domestic flights, while Terminal 2 is for international operations.
