Ishigaki Airport (ISG), also known as Painushima Ishigaki Airport, opened in 2013, replacing the old Ishigaki Airport. It is operated by the Ishigaki Airport Terminal Building Co., Ltd.
The airport handled approximately 2.8 million passengers in 2019. It serves as a gateway to the Yaeyama Islands and supports tourism and local commerce.
