King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) opened in 1981 and is operated by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). In 2019, the airport handled approximately 41 million passengers, making it one of the busiest airports in Saudi Arabia.

King Abdulaziz International Airport has four terminals: Terminal 1, North Terminal, South Terminal, and the Hajj Terminal. Terminal 1 serves most international and some domestic airlines.
The North Terminal primarily accommodates Saudi Airlines (domestic and international) and other SkyTeam alliance members. The South Terminal serves other airlines.
