Cochin International Airport (COK) opened in 1999 and is operated by Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL). It is the first airport in India to be built under a public-private partnership.
The airport handled approximately 8.9 million passengers in 2018-2019. It is a major gateway for travelers to Kerala.
Future expansion plans include increasing the capacity of the terminals.
Cochin International Airport has three terminals. Terminal 1 handles domestic flights.
Terminal 2 serves international flights. Terminal 3 is for domestic use.
Terminal 1 has a floor area of 56,000 sq ft and can handle 400 arriving and 400 departing passengers simultaneously. Terminal 2 covers 150,000 sq ft.
The airport has a total capacity to handle 12 million passengers annually. In 2018, Terminal 2 was expanded to include more check-in counters and baggage handling systems.
Short-term, long-term, and premium parking options are available. Parking rates for cars: ₹90 for the first 30 minutes, ₹150 for 1 hour, ₹250 for 2 hours, ₹350 for 3 hours, ₹450 for 4 hours, ₹750 for 7-24 hours. Daily rates start at ₹750. Pre-booking is not available.
