Langkawi International Airport (LGK) opened in 1991. It is operated by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB).
In 2023, the airport handled approximately 2.5 million passengers. It serves as a gateway to the popular tourist destination of Langkawi Island.
There are plans for further expansion to increase capacity.
Langkawi International Airport has one main terminal building serving both domestic and international flights. The terminal has 14 aircraft parking bays.
The terminal building covers an area of 15,000 square meters. The airport has a capacity of 4 million passengers per year.
There are no separate piers or concourses.
Short-term and long-term parking options are available. Rates are approximately RM 2 per hour for the first few hours, increasing to RM 15 per day. No pre-booking available.
