Changi Airport opened in 1981 and is operated by Changi Airport Group. In 2023, it handled 58.9 million passengers.

Its IATA code is SIN. It is a major aviation hub in Southeast Asia.

Ongoing expansion plans include the construction of Terminal 5, expected to open in the mid-2030s.

Changi Airport has four main terminals: Terminals 1, 2, 3, and 4. All terminals handle international flights.

Terminal 1 has 24 gates, Terminal 2 has 22 gates, Terminal 3 has 26 gates, and Terminal 4 has 17 gates. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are connected airside.

Terminal 1 underwent renovations completed in 2019. Terminal 4, opened in 2017, is a smaller, more automated terminal.

The airport has a capacity of approximately 85 million passengers per year.

The Changi Airport MRT station (CG2) is located in the basement of Terminal 3. The East-West Line connects the airport to the city center. Trains run every 12 minutes. The journey to City Hall station takes approximately 30 minutes and costs around SGD 2.

Bus
Several public bus services operate from the bus stops at Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4. Bus service 36 connects the airport to the city. Fares are approximately SGD 2.50 and the journey takes about 1 hour.

Taxi/Cab
Taxis are readily available at the taxi stands in all terminals. A ride to the city center costs approximately SGD 20-40, depending on the time of day and traffic conditions. Additional surcharges apply during peak hours. Uber and Grab operate at Changi Airport.
