Pakyong Airport (PYG) is a greenfield airport located near Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. It was inaugurated in September 2018 and is operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
The airport is built at 4,500 feet above sea level, making it one of the highest airports in India. The airport handled approximately 40,000 passengers in its first year of operation.
Pakyong Airport has one terminal. It handles both domestic and international flights.
The terminal building covers 31,000 square feet and has a capacity of handling approximately 50 passengers at a time. There are no aerobridges.
The airport was built at a cost of ₹605 crore.
