Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) opened in 1921 and is operated by Shanghai Airport Authority. It primarily serves domestic flights and some regional international routes.
In 2019, it handled approximately 45.68 million passengers. It complements the larger Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG).
Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 primarily handles international, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan flights.
Terminal 2 handles domestic flights. Terminal 1 has 5 boarding gates.
Terminal 2 has 47 boarding gates and a capacity of 30 million passengers per year. Terminal 2 was expanded in 2010.
Short-term and long-term parking are available. Rates vary depending on the duration. Short-term parking: CNY 10 per hour for the first 2 hours, then CNY 5 per hour. Daily maximum: CNY 80. Long-term parking: CNY 60 per day. Parking is available at both terminals. Pre-booking is not widely available.
