Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport opened in 1991. It is operated by Shenzhen Airport Group Co., Ltd.

In 2019, the airport handled 52.9 million passengers. Its IATA code is SZX.

The airport is a major aviation hub in the Pearl River Delta. Future expansion plans include a new terminal (Terminal D) and runway.

🏢 Terminals

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport has three terminals. Terminal A and B are no longer in use.

Terminal C handles domestic flights. Terminal D is under construction and will handle international flights.

Terminal 3, designed by Massimiliano Fuksas, has 15 boarding gates and 18 remote gates. The terminal area is 451,000 sq m.

The airport has a capacity of 45 million passengers per year. Terminal 3 opened in 2013.

Shenzhen Metro Line 11 connects the airport to the city center. The Airport Station is located in the Transportation Center of the airport. Trains run every few minutes. The fare to Futian is approximately CNY 7. Travel time to Futian is about 30 minutes.

Multiple airport bus lines connect the airport to various parts of the city. Airport Bus Line 330 connects to the city center. Fare is approximately CNY 20.

Taxi/Cab
Taxis are readily available outside the arrival hall. A taxi to the city center costs approximately CNY 100-120. Ola and Uber are not available in China. Pre-paid taxi counters are available.

Distance
Approximately 32 km from the city center. Travel time is about 40 minutes without traffic and 60-90 minutes during peak hours.
