Schoenefeld Airport (SXF) originally opened as a military airport in 1934 and later became the main civilian airport for East Berlin. It is operated by Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.

Schoenefeld was integrated into the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) in 2020 as Terminal 5 and was permanently closed in 2020.
Schoenefeld Airport (SXF) has four terminals: A, B, C, and D. Terminal A is the main terminal.
Terminal B is smaller and primarily handles flights for Germanwings and EasyJet. Terminal C was originally built for charter flights.
Terminal D was opened in 2008 to accommodate the growing number of passengers. The airport has a capacity of approximately 8 million passengers per year.
Short-term parking (P1, P2, P3) is available near the terminals. Long-term parking (P4, P6) is located further away and connected by shuttle bus. Rates vary depending on the parking area and duration. Short-term parking starts at approximately €3 per hour. Daily rates for long-term parking start at approximately €9.
