It serves as a major gateway to Catalonia and a key hub for Vueling. Plans are underway for further expansion to increase capacity.
Barcelona Airport has two terminals: T1 and T2. T1 is the newer and larger terminal, handling most international and some domestic flights.
It has 101 gates and spans 500,000 square meters. T2 is divided into three sections: T2A, T2B, and T2C.
T2 handles mostly low-cost carriers. Terminal 1 has a capacity of 31 million passengers per year, while Terminal 2 has a capacity of 17 million passengers per year.
In 2009, Terminal 1 underwent a significant expansion.
Short-term parking is available at both T1 and T2. Long-term parking is located near T1 and connected by a free shuttle bus. Rates vary depending on the duration. For short-term parking at T1, the rate is approximately €3.00 per hour. Daily rates for long-term parking start at approximately €12.
